I guess it's not too bad being the first time out, I think there is still a ton of room for improvement in the tune. Best run:
2.07 60'
13.80 @ 104
Tire size 285/75-16
Outside temp was 88*, and I never got my IAT's below 118 before I launched. ECT was always between 180-185 at the start of the run. IAT's would be in the 140's by the end of the run, so I might experiment with increasing the gain on the alkycontrol unit to spray more and try to keep the IAT's consistent through the whole run.
Best 60' time was had by stalling up just a tiny bit to like 1000, then flooring it. I tried brake stalling as high as I could on one run and was rewarded with 3* of KR that took almost the entire run to dissipate.
My worst run of the night was a 14.35 @ 101, tune was way rich and the IAT spark table was pulling 5* of timing most of the way down. I decreased the IAT spark table and gained back about 3*. Last run also got 3* of KR after the launch, so I think if I could have backed off the timing a little bit at that one point and kept it out of KR I would have picked up a tenth or two.
Interesting comparison to my previous best:
1.92 60'
13.57 @ 99
Tire size 265/70-16
I could never break 100mph with the old setup, but I think the Ultra-Torque cam, smaller tires, and 3.05 first gear of the 4L60E (along with 60* outside temps) made the difference in getting me off the line, where as now it's top-end that is getting me there.
All in all I am fairly happy with the results, and I took over 1/2 second off just by making some minor tweaks to the tune. I think that given a few more shakedown runs and some cooler outside temps that I can get close to 12's. Might try adjusting the shift points too, gonna put her on a dyno in the next few weeks and see where she stops pulling, then adjust shift points accordingly. I was shifting into 3rd a second or two before crossing the finish, I think I can hold it in second through the whole run and gain a little bit there too.
Next mods are gonna have to be a smaller pulley (I am only seeing about 7 psi right now) and some bigger injectors (hit 112% duty cycle at 6200 RPM in 2nd).

LMAO!
We all seem to be doing the same thing with these setups. High MPG and crappy ETs. We're gonna be known as the "Supra" trucks here pretty soon lol.
Jason, you and I have similar setups and we all trap about 104-105 when timing isnt being pulled to bad and none of us can get 60s to save our lives.
Rick will be retuning mine for the 90mm TB and my new converter is going in. Then he is coming to the track with me to datat log and monitor exactly whats going on with my runs and try to make corrections. I'll keep you posted on what we find. You do the same

My 60' a few weeks ago was 2.07, not too bad for 22's. I think a lot has to do with 0-30mph, my truck feels like a dog then. Hopefully Rick can figure it out, that might mean better ET's for all of us Radix guys. I have Caltracs on the way, that maye help as well.
I think your truck is going to get real close to the 12's.

Definitely let me know what you guys find out, I'm sure there is plenty left in the tune, it's just finding exactly where it is. I'll post some of my log numbers when I get back into my laptop, it's out in the truck and I'm too lazy right now.

OK taking a look at my log from the best & last run:
IAT's were 117 at launch, ECT 185. I did not stall up at all, went from idle to WOT. Got a timing dip as low as 6.5 deg off idle, and I have my burst knock disabled. Looking at my timing tables, the 600 RPM line takes a dive to somewhere around 6 degrees at .6 g/cyl. I bumped that cell up to 11 degrees, so I should be able to add back in 4 or 5 degrees there. Next thing that happened was 3* of KR at 19mph, 2800 RPM, .96 g/cyl, 133kPa. I took a degree of timing out of the high octane table, so hopefully that will take care of that. My AFR's were a little rich at the top, I see 10.6:1 right before a 6200 RPM 1-2 shift, injector duty cycle 106%. My 2-3 shift was right at 6000 RPM on this run (seems inconsistent by 100-200 RPM, probably has something to do with the vacuum modulation). AFR's were spot-on, shift happened at 101 mph, inj duty cycle 90%. I think that with a 101mph 6000 RPM shift I can definitely cross the traps at 104 mph with a 6500 RPM shift. Just gotta see if that will net a gain or not.
I see timing as high as 21* in the upper-mid RPM range and ramps down to 18.5 degrees starting at about 5600 RPM. IAT's are pulling 2* at 142* at the end of the run.

Went again tonight, best run:
R/T .001 baby!!!!
60' 2.051
13.660 @ 103.81
I was getting a lot of attention, thought it was cool at first, then got annoying real quick cause most (read: all) of the people were complete morons. Some guys came over and were most impressed with my triple-gauge pillar. Retards. A lot of guys wanted to know how I hooked the computer to the car. I wanted to tell them that the 2001 Chevy's came with wi-fi. The announcer was a retard too, I have one video of my run where he says that they got confirmation that the pickup has a Magnacharger....tool....he works at the drag strip and doesn't know what supercharger whine sounds like?
I am happy that the times got a little better, but I got the timing set so I am not getting any KR at all, and I still can't get much better than that. A little disappointing. I think it's the 2.48 1st gear that's killing my times, I should be much faster than this. There are Radix'ed Silverado SS's in the 12's, same engine, same blower, almost the same drivetrain, same weight. Two differences I can think of off hand - my 33" tire and the 4L80E.
Justin - how much timing are you running off the line and how much through the RPM range at WOT?

Hey guy glad you got the thing going and hitting the track.
I am at 20* timing off the line. Usually down to 18* by the end of the run after IAT's and such pull their timing.
I sometimes get KR off the line. 2-3* Don't others? Last time at the track when it didn't pull the timing off the line ran 13.3X's. 13.1X when it didn't. Could see it in the 60' times. With KR high 1.90's, without KR low 1.90's had one 1.89 60'.

That must be the difference then, I'm at about 10* right off the line, then it ramps up to 22* or so, then back down to 18 up top.
I get KR off the line when I brake stall real high. My best 60' of the night was when I stalled it up to 2500, even though I got 6* of KR right before the launch. I never got any KR after I was actually moving, but it took awhile to decay out. I still ran a 13.74. I am running very consistent, I ran 5 times last night, slowest ET was 13.74, best was 13.66, slowest MPH was 103.06, best was 103.81, slowest 60' was 2.084, best was 2.039. What size pulley are you going to? I'm thinking that it's time for me to pulley down too and get my 10 psi back, although I really think I should be running better with what I have right now. Maybe it is the launch - if I could get my 60' times around 1.90 like you I could probably run low 13's as well. I'll have to mess with the timing right off the line.

The above runs were with a 3.1 pulley. About 7 psi. Just put on a 2.9 now about 8.5 psi. I don't see making 10 psi with my setup in the summer. Think the smallest pulley out there is 2.75?
Another thing to note is that I brake stall to about 2600 rpm at the light. I'd would probably be a lot less timing at a 1000 rpm.

I played with my tune and got rid of all the KR when brake stalling. I also got a nice surprise, my converter stalls up to 2900
I thought it was gonna be 2400 or so, but I can get a lot more out of it. I bet this will cut some good time off my 60'. I hope it stays cool at night, I need to make it out to the track again soon before it gets warm and see how much that changes.
