I haven't seen it yet but ill look for it. The truck is a 93 short bed Chevy. Has 4.10 gears with a locker in the rear and a full spool in the front

If your stall flashes to 4k I would leave it. Brake stall is not the same as a flash stall. I would find out what it is before wasting money on a new converter. Get the shift points/carb fixed and I bet it will be a different truck.

Yea true I must have not noticed him saying that. A good tune is what I would start with. The video the motor sounds healthy but sounds like its starving for fuel

So I take it you don't think the stall is slipping. And I the only thing I know about the stall is what it breaks at and flashes too. The guy started building this truck in 93 so there is no telling if it was a cheap stall or a good one.

I'm gonna start breaking the truck down tomorrow and take the carb to my grandpas buddy to have him go threw it unless he has one with manual secondary's. I'll update findings in a few days

Ok sounds good. You can run the part numbers and see what size the carb is. Ive done it a few times.

ok i have an update. i pulled the flex fan off and put an electric fan on it and that freed up some hp. then put some new plugs in and and......yeah i can hit 5000 rpms while nailing it now. next time im off during the weekend im gonna take it to the track and get some time slips to see if its quicker now.

by the butt dyno it feels a whole lot better

Ok. Just out of curiosity what did u gap the plugs too? Also what kind of timing are you running?

40 on the gap and 28 degrees I believe

Ok good. What ignition are you running? Factory HEI or MSD?
