Dude, no need to bash someone else in my thread. If he says he did a 1.93 then I believe him and so should you. You have never driven or even ridden in his truck so you don't know what it can do.

Fastjweb, thanks for the help. I did try a couple off idle launches with the best being a 2.3x 60' and still spun so I feel with this truck stalling it to about 1500 rpm will get the best time if it will hook. Like you say it will just take a lot of practice and for my first time out I am more than happy with the truck!

Not trying to trash him. I am saying that he might have a slip with 1.93 but I doubt it is legit. Not that he is making it up. Typically most people agree you must repeat anything racing related to solidfy the data. Especially when it is very difficult or almost impossible. So one slip means nothing to me but two or three and I will be highly impressed that he cut such an amazing light.

You don't have to ride in a vehicle to know what is very difficult to accomplish.

If he has at least two slips with a 1.9x and street tires and stock stall then I will believe him. Till then I will be skeptical. Not calling him full of crap just need some solidification that it wasn't a one time mistake of the timing system.

Also how old are the radials? You shouldn't have a problem selling the tires and getting a more suitable tire for you set up and not have to loose much if any money in the deal.

Not sure how old they are. Just bought them from a guy on here last weekend just before I went to the track actually. He said they probably had about 20 passes left depending on burnouts. What would be a more suitable tire? A full slick or just a taller drag radial? I'm thinking some stiffer shocks and caltracs may be in my future as well.

I didnt think a 1.93 was special, the truck dead hooked, and my gears plus my full bolt on and cammed 5.3 did a 1.93. Thats not a good 60ft at all in my opinion. Im was just showing what two set ups did. To the OP, you can also try spring clamps, there cheap but it rides like crap. I actually had those on the crew cab, but took them off to get the ride back. You may want to try something cheap though and see what happens. There are stock f-body camaros that can get a 1.90's 60ft with decent tire and luck. Ive had 60fts from that 1.93 all the way to that 2.7 in the video, it all depends on track, tire, weather and being throttle consistent. I couldnt duplicate that because theres so many varibles, and the truck was not consistent by any means. Id say just get your tune finished up and keep trying until you get what works for your truck, and have fun man, thats what its all about anyways.

I personally have a MT E.T. Street 28x11.5-16 and they work well. Anything bias is going to be much easier to get to hook. A bigger radial will help a lot over the tiny 26" tire you are on now but radials are difficult to get to hook consistently and especially with a truck.

No need for a full slick. Just an DOT bias slick will make life much easier.

Get your tune fixed up and let's see where you are. No need to change anything else because we don't know if anything else is a problem. Once you have the tune you can compare apple to apples. Right now you have nothing to legitimately compare to.

Street tires, stock stall that is an amazing 60" with a nearly stock 5.3, that is what I got from your previous post. A fully bolted, and cammed 5.3 makes much more sense. I say it is still a good 60" with a stock stall because my 6.0 on the 100 shot was like I said mid/high 1.9s. I would guess we were leaving with similar power since mine was 2800 stall stock engine+100 shot vs. your cammed and modified 5.3.

all good, I used to get pissed because the 6.0 with all the same stuff plus stall/blower would not do it, but more torque plus rpm from the stall lit them up all day. I wanted to try slicks so bad but, that one piece aluminum drive shaft scared me if it did stick.

Ok thanks for the help fellas. The track doesn't open foe test and tune again until March so I am going to do my best to have a tune, electric fans, CAI, and underdrive pulley by then to see if we can't break into the 8's in the 1/8th. Think I may try to get some stiffer shocks in the back and maybe try the spring clamp idea or the overload leaf bump stop idea as well.
