Default Finally got some times with new motor

Went to the track last weekend, finally got around to posting up. Made about 12 runs, mostly 1/8 mile to avoid getting the boot right away. First full fun was leaving from a dead idle, spinning pretty good about 20ft out in 4wd.

Traction was horrible, temps were around 50*, not sure what the da was. My last run I left around 2500rpm, still slightly in vacuum as if I went any higher, it would spin so bad I would have to let out from going sideways. Still spun pretty bad, and trans started slipping on the 2-3 shift, thats why the mph went down a hair.

As you can see, my 60ft's are horrible, this track has a bad reputation for track prep, everyone was sliding around. I think I get better traction on the street. I had a best 60' of 1.78, wish I would have ran that one out, probably would have been pretty close to 10's. Pulled the trans and sent it in, sent in my converter to get tightened up, was brake stalling to 4500rpm, I want it about 3400. If I can get some traction and get my 60' down, with the tighter converter and good trans, I should be able to get this thing into the 10's with no problem.

Good runs. You should see solid 10s when you go back.

Thanks man, kinda sucks, nobody around here gives any respect to trucks. There were two guys there with the newer gt500's, had slicks, smaller blower pulley, nitrous and all the goodies, running 11.30's with the spray, 12.20's without, and everybody was amazed by them, I run an 11.25 and nobody looks twice. Not to mention I got the boot for the day after one violation of running quicker than 11.49, those two ran quicker 2 or 3 times without roll bar, not a word said to them.

Its a circle d multi disc 2b, he's going to change it to a 1a. I notice you're running the 1a also. How do you like it? Mine was great with the 5.3/turbo, but this motor spools the turbo harder, and obviously makes more power. I shift at 6k, rpm only drops to 5500 on shifts. I know I'm losing a lot of top end like that.

Hah, I had the exact same problem. The 2B was way too loose. The 1A is still too loose for my taste, even though its rated at something like 2400 rpms. I can brake stall it to like 3500 with just 5 pounds of boost. Shifting at 6200 it drops to 4900.

Do you think it pulls a lot better on the top end (75+)? Mine would rip out of the hole, on some good asphalt of course, but feels like it falls off pretty bad on the top end, feels like the converter soaked up a lot of power.
