Thats a false statement.. My buddy had freaking gt stang vert stock 302 bottom with the gt 40 heads and cam and went low 13's all day long on good radials.. I think he had 4500 into the car and heads/cam.. Prob would have went 12's no prob on good stickies.. Even the vert stangs still are under 3500 lbs..

Not true, there are more than a handful of fox body notchbacks that run 12's just damn near stock.

Is a HCI a ton of work? This car also had 3.08 gears, and ran 13.20s. Never ran it at the track after the gear swaps. But I'm sure it was well in the 12's.

From a good deal of videos, and most mustangs I see at the track it is far more common to see a 13.0 or slower mustang. There are plenty that are faster but the point I am trying to make is that a just like this car, HCI, exhaust, rebuild and slight overbore, upgraded intake, and a few othere things and it would be right at a 13.0 on slicks if he is extreamly lucky.

You take an F-body it is is damn near a 13.0 stock. You do any mod and generaly have a 12 sec car. Gears, tune, stall, exhaust, cam, intake, the list goes on and only one or two of them and you usualy are in a 12 second car. Hell most of our trucks with a cam, tune, and stall are low 13s. My truck with a stall, tune 100 shot and 13.4.

I really don't want this to spiral out of controll and turn into a huge argument.

You don't have to agree with me but i am 100% confident if you actualy go to the track a few times, go to your local street races, and gather info you will be on the same page. Untill the newest mustangs they have all ben extreamly slow especialy out of the box and we all know it is hard to make soup from ****.

I think the problem here is that you continue to spit out your crazy claims of things and you actually believe them.. People are not trying to start a argument with you, but it is pretty obvious you are the one who thinks they know about it all..So with that being said your statement of A 12 sec. mustang is hard to come by without a ton of work done is bogus.. 300 or so wheel hp stang will go close to if not in the 12's all day..

As bad as a I hate to say it, the foxbody mustang is probably the greatest factory car to ever be produced to turn into a racecar. They have the most readily available after market for parts to make them fast for very cheap.

If they are slow, someone either isn't trying or they're retarded...I know which way I'm leaning in the situation

They are very light therfore a great platform. Problem with them is they are underpowered from the factory and need large amounts of help to be fast. Hence the reason why guys regularly put a LS1 under the hood. I have seen plenty of them with a stock 6.0 or LS1 and they will generaly run into the 12s.

A cam and bolt on mustang is most often a 13 second car no matter how you slice it.

The car that started this thread is a perfect example. I have video of the run so you have much more then just a time slip to confirm that it was a clean pass for street tires. Slicks should drop 2-3 tenths off the 60 and you could shift a bit harder if you know the tires are going to stick.

This isn't the first car I have seen and watched at the track with the same or worse results. I have also looked at plenty of videos on youtube to confirm my claims.
Here is another example. Obviously no way to tell what is done but the title says cam, heads are the most recent upgrade.
5.0 mustang 1/4 mile pass in car - YouTube
Corrected claim is 12.5 but I count a full 13 seconds plus from start to finish.
