Dismal 60 foots. Converter expectations
#1
I have been running consistent 12.7-13.0 quarter mile times (depending on the weather) with a 108 mph trap speed. My 60 foots are horrible... 2.1- 2.2. I once managed a 1.9 when I sprayed out of the hole. I'm on the stock converter in the 80e. I can foot brake to 2k at the line, no higher. After searching many threads, looks like a 3600 stall would give me what I want... good street manners and a much improved 60 foot/ET. How much improvement would any of you think I can expect in 60' and ETs? I'm shooting for a 1.8 60 foot and low 12's. Too optimistic?

If you buy tires you will be b much better off to get a bias slick. I like M/T others say Hoosier and M&H are better.
A stall will easily get you below 2.0 60 ft. times but if you don't have traction issues now you will after the stall. So the stall that swerve is offering is a great deal and will work perfectly for you. It will certainly drop .3-.5 off you 1/4 and could be more.
If you are ever planning on manning up and spraying the truck out of the hole all the time you will want to take that into consideration. Nitrous will raise your stall speed up approximately 500 rpm. So 3200-3600 is a great range. If you don't buy swerve's then I would look into a 3200 if you are going to spray it out of the whole.
Obviously I feel you should spray out of the hole right now, why don't you? It is much more fun and the gains are usually significant.

I am not spinning at all. I currently run a Nitto DR at the track. They are not the best by any means, sometimes spinning and sometimes hooking. But the numbers I have posted are with zero tire spin. I plan to upgrade my tires along with the TC.
