Default craptastic ET's

Finally got the truck to the track. I can't shift this god damned tranny to save my life. My old '90 with a Hurst shifter on the 5 speed was pretty nice. the '05 sucks with only a new shifter handle. Too bad they don't make a good shifter for this version.

Anyways - bests from the 2 clean passes in the 5 runs I made.

60' - 2.2072
330' - 6.5220
594' - 9.4891
660' - 10.1328
660' - 70.23mph
1000' - 13.1588
1000' - 82.71mph
1320' - 15.6568
1320' - 91.04mph

I am 400 miles away from my first oil change with this truck. I was hoping to at least run the 4.8 a while. I think I might change the engine with the oil.

On a side note. Switching from the 265/70R17's and open 3.23 rear to 275/55R17's and 4.10/truetrac helped out the gas mileage. Went from 10-13 up to 18mpg.

15.6 isn't bad for the tiny motor under the hood.

I wrote this then looked. Seems like you have a good deal of mods. That thing is slow just like one would figure.

yes - it didn't look bad when it was stock height. I'm thinking of dumping it through the rear fender. Lowering the truck made the exhaust much louder inside, so I'm not going to jut put a turn down on it. I used to have the Gibson super truck side exit exhaust with headers on my OBS and it was hard to have a conversation when driving.

With mods in my sig i ran 15.1 at the truck, but could slow pull on a truck running 14.70s on a highway pull

Also when i went from open diff and 3.23's to the trutrac 4.11s i saw about 2 mpg improvement in town, and when i drove from nm to az i got 24 mpgs, only thing i can figure is your not having to floor it everywhere you go just to unass the truck.

Now the age old question, more cubes or boost first?

If you are going to boost more cubes isn't really needed. You will certainly make more power the bigger the motor but it will cost allot of money to buy and build a 6.0 then boost it. The 6.0 for a reasonable price($5000 or so) will make the same power the 4.8 will make with a $3000 blower.
