Default cammed lm7 needs track help

let me give you guys a basic rundown on the truck...

it's a 97 Xcab with a 5.3 swap, all i have is (2 pcm, one dyno for track and 1 from Wheatley for 87 octane daily driving)

TR220
Longtube headers
3200 278mm circle D stall
4" home depot intake
open axle on 3.42 gears with a 29" tire
3" cutout

it's obvious i have a traction problem
let me give you a timeslip from 3 months ago (haven't ran since then)

R/T .516
60 2.499
330 6.366
1/8 9.489
mph 79.56
1000 12.146
ET 14.415
MPH 98.36

I wanna get at least 13.5's out of this thing at the track, on the street it runs GREAT with both tunes, i've walked alot of things from rolls (g35,350z, FBO 6.0 ccsb/rcsb) but with the Annual track shootout in Baytown TX soon i wanna run some better track times

So far i have new parts that i collected since 2 weeks ago...
799 heads shaved .030 thousandths
NNBS intake with 4bolt 92mm TB
stock .051 head gaskets
Spool

The last thing i wanna address that i have not gotten yet is the slicks i want to run, I've read and seen people run anywhere from 26" to 28" slicks
so if you track guru's would help me out i'd appreciate it

Things that can help you at the track. Get a truetrac or something similar as the one tire fire is hurting you, get shorter gears 3.73 or 4.10's they will help a lot at the track, you can also spray a 50-75 shot of nitrous at the track if you wanted.

The 3.42's are actually pretty good on the top end or from a roll as while some other people you are racing might have a shorter gear 4.10's or more (there vehicle might be more setup for the dragstrip) and while they are changing gears your long 3.42 gears are still in the powerband and has less shifting to do..

If you can't decide then pick a happy medium which would be 3.73 gears and please get a truetrac or something and you would be happy.

Start with the info / recommendations I gave you and go from there.

Actually since you already have 3.42's, I would probably go with 3.90 as the 3.73 might not be worth your while.

If you don't want to change gears, get some 26" slicks to make up for it.

I wouldn't run a spool on the street, especially with stock axles and c-clips. I'd get an Eaton Posi.

Gained 60 hp and made power past 5k with the nnbs intake, so i gained a bit.
i 1/4'd the truck today on the new setup .. new times are...
13.04 @ 101.97 2.003 60ft. i ran some 27" hoosier slicks on 15 psi, stalled up to 1400 and flashed it at the last yellow light

60 HP is very impressive with just an intake swap. Most see 20 hp. What was the full time slip?

60 is a lot for just a nnbs intake swap! But damn good. And a pretty good run too
