this is what i have going on and i ran a 13.3 this weekend.
4200 lbs raceweight
3500 precision stall
4.10's
built 60e
long tube headers (as&m)
no cats
hooker muffler
3" dumps
stock intake manifold with a brute force cai
28" et streets
cam is a 224/224 563/563 114
but getting the 4.8 there is all in the gear selection, cam and stall.
there was a guy yesterday that at 4700lbs ran a 13.0 in a n/a 4.8l I forgot the specs on his cam, but it was way bigger then mine, his stall is a ~3600 and has 4.56 gears.
Im in the process of trying to figure out if there is a little head work i can get done to pick up even more and maybe a different cam... probably a reverse split to help the lack of low end torque.

what are you using to tune? what kind/size rim are you using and how did you get so light lol if you could would you have gone 4.56? i have both sitting infront of me right now i just dont think il get traction with them

with this cam, i dont really need a 4.56, i drive it everyday 125k miles on it so the 4.10s are bad enough on gas lol.
i am tuning with hptuners (www.hptuners.com)
16in. alum wheels
the truck is manual windows, doors, rubber floors, etc... so thats why its that light. Plus i take off the spare, tailgate, run on 6 gals of gas, etc.

do you tune the hp tuner your self or pay some one i have used several tuning devices before just not a pro with them is it fairly user friendly? and are the 16's stock rims? and what rpm do you rev to, do you have springs? thanks for your time i really appreciate it

ya no prob.
i tune myself, bought the software and very user friendly, yes.
the stock 16's i had were chrome wheels and are heavy.. so i switched to the OTHER stock wheels that were available on my model which are the 16 alum. wheels, much lighter.
springs are PAC 1215. Herron performance has them for sale for the cheapest
i shift at 6200 1-2 shift 6500 2-3 shift.

My ext cab with a 4.8, 3.42 open diff, intake, exhaust, headers, and wheatley tune has gone 14.4 on its best pass, 14.6 consistently but spinning a little. I think in the reg cab, you should be able to do that without a problem.
