Bone stock 5.3L ECSB track times, how'd I do?
I'd gotten a few 15.57's from the truck last year, but I'm possibly doing a story on minor bolt-ons for a magazine here shortly, so I wanted a set of slips with air conditions and such. Hit up Gainesville Raceway tonight for a TNT night.
Truck is a bone stock 2004 Sierra 5.3L ECSB 3.73 geared with a bed mat and soft tonneau cover (guessing 20-40 lbs extra weight)? When we dyno'd it (figures in sig), mph limiter was removed but no tuning otherwise (A/F was a 11.2)
Full tank of 87 octane, driven to the track and cooled for 20 minutes min before each run. Each run was done in OD and a 1400 rpm launch.
First pass at -176 DA:
.074 - Reaction time
2.296 - 60 foot (hint of spin)
6.465 - 330 foot
9.925 @ 71.63 - 1/8 mile and speed
12.910 - 1000 foot
15.488 @ 87.02 - 1/4 mile and speed
I was pleased! Pulled around and did run #2 35 minutes later:
-202 DA
.059 - Reaction time
2.273 - 60 foot
6.426 - 330 foot
9.875 @ 71.84 - 1/8 mile and speed
12.863 - 1000 foot
15.445 @ 86.92 - 1/4 mile and speed
Okay, getting better here!
Last pass 40 minutes later..
-320 DA
.050 - Reaction time
2.273 - 60 foot
6.425 - 330 foot
9.877 @ 71.81 - 1/8 mile and speed
12.868 - 1000 foot
15.454 @ 86.62 - 1/4 mile and speed
Just like last year, consistent and good bracket racer in a pinch!
I know this probably isn't even close to records of any kind, but just wanted some feedback??
I'm doing a catback and CAI shortly, then tuning with Formato afterwards and seeing what we get.
