I took my 2003 ecsb 5.3 4x4 to the track last night, bone stock, no weight reduction. Just the way it came from GM, except some 20s. 16.4 @ 85 i was kinda surprised. Didnt think it would run that fast. Now for the mods and take it back and hope for 12s.

 

What kind of mods you have planned?

 

Obviously something big...do tell.

By lots you mean in the 350 hp range. Only chance you have with that list of mods.

If you do a cam(.3), stall(.4), lots of weight reduction(.3), you will still need over 200 hp of nitrous to have a chance to get a 12.99999.

It takes no less then a 100 hp to drop a second off your time. A converter and tune can be good for a full second if you are lucky.

Point is your goal is ridiculous and you better lower your goal or plan on a hell of a lot more mods and money if you don't want to lower your expectations.

 

It might be ridiculous, but its a goal. Unrealistic or not, this isnt the first vehicle with an 5.3 Ive modded. Thank You for your constructive criticism.
