Default 6.56@108

Its been a while since I had a good run at a track, mainly due to being busy and having my hot pipes redone into a T6. After fitting burned wires for the last few weeks I finally got it going good. Im still using the same turbo (bw s400 80mm) and downpipe, just now a T6 manifold with the crossover combining at the manifold instead of the back of the log. Ill start a new thread about that when im done tweaking it. But gains from the intake (holley hi ram) is not a whole lot, but looks a lot cooler. The traction bars (Assasins) however really appear to cure my axle wrap problem (see the video) and the truck launches great.

This run was 6.565@108 with a 1.568 60ft.

Im starting to have the problem of either needing to going to a 2step or a tighter converter. Im leaving the line at 15lbs and 5000 rpm, and my stall is a yank pt3200. I think I would get a much better 60ft if I wasnt already so high in my rpm range. If I could make 15lbs at 3500 I think I would be in much better business. Thoughts?

I think your truck is moving out!!!

As for the converter though. I would think it would be beneficial to take advantage of the torque you are making in the middle RPM range. Where do you normally see full boost at if you DONT build boost off idle?

Sweet! Gunna start to pick up as the good air creeps in..
How's spool up between the two setups?

Try braking the converter to 4500 or so then right before you launch peddle back to 3500 and stab it. I have the 3400 and have cut 1.38~1.40 60's by breaking to 4200, letting it drop to 35~3600 and hitting it. Pushing converter past 3800 always slows me down...

Spool is slightly slower on the T6, which I expected going from a 1.25 T4 to a 1.25 T6. I have a backpressure port in the new crossover, but havent had a chance to test that out yet. Top end is much better, but slower spool.

Black, well its more complicated than that...boost is a function of engine speed and time. My boost controller does a decent job of keeping boost steady if im rolling into it. If you are asking how bad the lag is, I probably have full boost by 4000ish but havent tested it extensively yet. When I went to the dyno I was seeing peak torque around 5200rpm, but I have changed a few things since then (intake, intercooler, cold side size).

I know I need a bigger turbo, but I think I can squeeze 112mph out of this little guy if I can figure out why it knocks on the 2-3 shift while spraying a lot of meth...

Well what I was thinking is that if it doesn't make full boost until a certain RPM, then I would want my converter to flash a few hundred RPMs below that point to take advantage of the torque curve. So like you said, if you hit full boost at 4,000rpm, than the 3200-3500rpm stall would seem ideal. Get the RPMS right where its about to start making a lot of torque and HP very quickly.

Heres a pic of a log and you can see what I mean

Notice the rpm actually drops after I launch initially (red line in the top section), but wheel speed is obviously increasing (green line bottom section). Also notice the knock at the 2-3 shift. Its rich because of the meth, notice the intake temp

Yea looks like you had a fair bit of KR there towards the end of the run. Those IATs are nice though! Was that at like 4am or something?

And how accurate does that calculate HP? Looks like you're making somewhere north of 900hp if so!

Nope, 3:30 today, actual temp was around 70

Based on this equation which is based on my dyno time, very accurate. Calculators for et and mph also give me a 950+hp number.

The thing about that knock event...considering the amount of meth I spray, and the fact that it never does it if I am driving in 3rd and just lean into it, leads me to believe its false knock or just something banging around...but on the chance its IS real knock, I dont really want to tounch the knock sensor settings. However on a previous run I tuned out some knock and picked up 2mph.
