4.8 vs 5.3

Can some one explain how a 5.3 with a cold air intake and flow master beat my 4.8 with the mods in my sig from a Roll and a dig, I guess its time to get a 5.3 and swap my stuff over very depressing

Tons of variables.
What cab are you?
What cab is he?
What gears do you have?
What are his gears?
Are you positive that's all he has done?
He got the jump both times?
Throughout the years the 5.3 had about 15 more horsepower, and 25 or so lbs. of torque extra. You don't need to swap an engine to make up that difference. Hell, long tube headers alone would put you over that difference.

It's my buddy's truck brand new has 10000 miles I know that's all he has bc I gave him my old cold air and put the flow on for him. There the exact same trucks both extended cab 2 door same size beds same gears I got the jump on the Rolland put a truck on him fast and he reeled me right back in from a dig he put probably 3 trucks on me when we let out I don't understand how he beat me I figured I would deffinatly get him from a knew he had me from a dig bc mines slow off the line

So he has a HD? If it was a half ton he would have the 6 speed 6L80.
If it is an HD, is he a 6.0 rather than a 5.3? If it is a half ton, the gearing in the 6 speed is giving him another advantage.
Do you have large heavy wheels or tires?
