1000 hp and driving it often won't work well. You can turn the boost down for street driving but It won't be a nice Sunday drive.

4wd would be nice and the extra weight isn't going to have much of a negative effect having so much power on tap.

2wd will be much easier obviously and will save you the headache of trying to have a strong enough front end to not blow up.

2wheel drive for the strip, 4wheel drive for everything else.

Not sure but it takes 1100~1120hp to push a 4850lb car 144mph. I'm not sure how much more or less the 4x4 running gear, and wind drag of the truck has on top of that.
JFR370Ci, ported heads, Isky Turbo cam, and KBRacing pt88 turbo kit @20~22psi. Other than shift kit, 80e, tirod sleeves, converter, true track, fuel system, and meth kit, it's pretty much stock.

That's what I was going to say. A dedicated drag racer can be tubbed, with slicks, and hauled to the track. A street machine/driver doesn't quite have that luxury (although I've seen it done).

It might be worth a little mph due to the viscus coupler, but no way to heat up the tires good without getting the track starter pissed off.
