13.4 @ 96 great ET, but poor mph?
#1
Well I went to the track and am very pleased with the results, but I thought my mph would have at least hit 97-98.....
I have searched through all the timeslips on dragtimes for trucks and ls1truck.com, and here.....I haven't seen another truck running sub 13.5 and only trapping 96
My 60'
1.92
8.57 @ 80mph 1/8
13.42 @ 96 1/4
setup is a 1998 corvette LS1 dyno tuned 315 rwhp 349rwtq, 4l60e , 3.90 gears, headers, 30in tall street tires, ls6 manifold, UD pulley.
I then thought it might be my areodynamics, but many other trucks are just as bad right? or is mine just that shitty with the square front end of the 80's rams, and the axles hanging down catching air.....
I'm just wondering if anyone else has run a very good et, but low mph...

No there is not a damn thing wrong with that ET or MPH for what you have. The wind drag from your exposed under carriage, and lift kit is killing your MPH. At least 3~4+ mph over a 2wd truck the same weight. Also the drive line angles etc on a lifted truck rob power. I've done a lot of racing with both 2wd and lifted 4x4 trucks. You're doing good. Raise it another 2~3'' and 33'' tires then watch what happens lol

Be proud of that E.T an mph
Mine is no where close to a 1/8th mile truck but i run 8.5 @ 82-83mph. So you are pretty damn close to a torque monster imho. I bet if you would have ran on a little lighter tire combo or just had a shorter gear you would have ran closer to a 13.1-13.2
Keep up the great work

I like the way the truck looks, its just needs more power....I think I am going to pull one leaf from all 4 corners just to drop it 1/2 in. and get the truck to ride a little smoother...with the aluminum LS1 its a light truck and now its stiff with the leafs on it..
