V6 to V8 swap

V6 to V8 swap
Hey what's up,
I currently own a 1995 Dakota SWB. It has a 3.9magnum/5spd. Down the line Iwant to swap out the 3.9 for a stronger V8. Is this kind of swap worth doing? If so what V8 should I go for? What's all involved to do such a swap?
What kind of parts would I need to get this done right? Would I be able to get most of this stuff from a salvage yard? Anyone from Columbus,OH that maybe can help me out?
