I figured it is only best to say HI to all and to see what everyone has.. I have a 04 ram 2500. It has a hemi with a 5 speed in it. I have an airaide tbi spacer, volant air intake with custom ram air tube, magnaflow cat back, and a superchips programmer. I was looking to change out the intake manafold with the 6.1l as well as change out the hood to the srt-10 hood to make a ram air system with that. I was also going to look into the sts turbo and then an air ride suspensino so I dont have as much wheel hop.. but those are only dreams I was just wondering if anyone would know if the 6.1l intake manafold would fit on the 5.7l.

 

It fits with some work. The ports will not match the 5.7 so you'll need to do some port matching, and the timing cover won't work either, you'd need to fab up a new one. However if you get the 6.1L heads, then you get rid of the port mismatch and just have to worry about the timing cover. You may also want to look at the 5.7L car intake as it appears to be different then the truck intake. I bet that will line right up.

Intake is one of the last things on my list of mods, I haven't seen anyone post big gains by swapping out the intake, but the 6.1L cam and head's show gains. Also look at Acctorch's posts, he's got a set of extruded heads along with the 6.1L cam is making very nice numbers.

well it is still new to me so what I have read on stuff has all been about swaping stuff off of the 6.1 and put it on the 5.7. and I have looked at the car one on the 5.7 and it is different than the truck one.. thanks for the info. I will let u know how it turns out.
