Hey Colt, Looks cool, but not convinced on the efficiency of the intercooler mounted there...Even with a big scoop you will still have the engine heat rising. Just a thought

That is a concern Avsfan.
We are going to box it in to seperate it from the motor- insulated with drainage channels and a nitrous intercooler chiller. I'm already using meth injection in the set up too so I hope it'll be ok.

If not- we'll move it to the front.

Thanks

That looks killer. I also think its awesome you are trying something that isnt common place. While you may or may not get as much airflow there as opposed to the grille, Im sure you'll have plenty. Add in the meth and I doubt you are going to have any problems with cooling.

Yea- I guess I should have posted. If you see my sig pic below it says De-tuned to 500rwhp. Well we were detuning it to that because it HAD a stock bottom end. I ran accross a forged crank for a decent price and kept going (see sig below) Anyway- it's at Autoshop getting the machine work and assembly done, it'll be home in no time.

Here's a pic with the motor out (and thrown together to see if we can put the intercooler on top and have enough room to encase it and use the scoop in my hood for cooling).

You know, now that you ask that I'm not sure who's doing what kkd. I know Autoshop is doing the machine work so I assume they'll do some of the motor build, if not all of it. But yes, krc does do motor builds but Autoshop does any machine work they need and since all of the bottom end parts I have going in are custom and need machining Autoshop is having to do that. I'll ask Marty next time I talk to them how much Autoshop is actually doing.

Here's the latest update from Monday the 8th: The pistons, rods, forged crank, damper, tone ring, and flexplate are being balanced. The Block is in prep. So we are about 2 weeks out before assembly.
