TCM mod for you 2003 5.7 hemi guys
#1
As some of you guys know, the torque management mod on the 2003 rams equipped with a hemi engine is good for like .3-.4 seconds better as far as a performance value goes. Its the #10 wire in the plug going to the computer, or the green and black wire. Some guys are pulling the pin or putting a small toggle switch inline to activate it, either way is good I guess. Its an old trick for the 5.7 guys, just thought some of you newbies might like to know about it if you haven't tried it yet.......but it only works on the 2003 models. The rst of us will have to wait for a programmer!!

Um, I am pretty sure it is the green/yellow wire, in fact positive on this. Can't remember the pin # tho. I put a splice in mine that could be reconnected easily if I needed to visit the dealer. The Superchips takes care of it for those who have one.
It reduced my 1/4 times by almost 0.4 seconds. Awesome free mod!
Also a good example of how conservative our stock programming is. Can't wait for HemiEdit or the like......

I did it to my 03. the shift improvment was nice, I can bark the tires in
second almost every time now. It is the yellow/green wire, was a pain to get at to pull it, a switch would be nice, but easier to spot by the dealership. I've had it done for a good 15K miles now with no problems.
The down side to it is with the programmers out there, they also do the mod, but most of the improvments in the programmer is from the shift. People without the tcm mod see 7 tenth gains from the programmer, but people that have done the mod like me are only getting 3 or 4 tenths improvment out of it. A lot of that is in the +500rpm limit.
