Sorry if this is the wrong forum.. mods feel free to move if that is the case.

I have an 02 Dodge Quad cab, that I bought practically brand new. I have about 118,xxx miles on it, and it is starting to show its wear and tear, The motor in it is a 4.7 magnum. I was thinking of going to a junkyard finding a newer dodge with the 5.7 hemi, and tranny, buying them both and swapping that into my Current truck.

My questions are

Is that even worth it?

Would I have to change the PCM?

Wiring harness?

Motor mounts?

What would it consist of? Is it an easy task? I am some what mechanically inclined, so that won't be a problem. Its just I wanna know what kind of tasks I would be under taking,, and what all I would need to do it, for like a weekend swap.

i dont know the interchangeability of the two....my last truck was an 01 dakota with the 4.7 and it was a pig even with a k/b supercharger. i can't imagine it in an even heavier vehicle like a ram.

You'd be better off just buying a ram with the 5.7 already in it. Basicaly nothings interchangable, you'd have to change the entire ECM/TCM wo correspond with whatever year model motor you got. What tranny is in your current truck?? That would probaly have to be changed also.
