Comin from a guy who has a 2nd gen first and foremost you need an airdog, secondly vp44 monster pump 150 injectors, valves and studs, and a silver bullet turbo 500hp takes about 5 g if u do the work urself

First things first you should have your 47RE built before you worry about the motor. Triple disk converter, upgraded alto reds, performance Vavle body. A billet input shaft would not hurt since the transmission would already be out, but it not necessarily needed.

64mm turbo, 150hp sticks, air dog or fass, studs (i run A1 H11 studs), good tuner. The stock vp44 will push 500whp if its in good shape still. Do not go larger than a 64mm compressor unless you do a compound setup for towing. Something like a sps62 would work at 500whp, but would run high egt. Killer spool for towing though.
And of course a built trans.
