Ok, picked up the 6637, that thing is huge! I just need to remove the airbox and clamp it to existing intake tube? I ask because it looks like the piping connecting to the airbox is that corragated/flex tubing?

I'm going to look for an article I found online a few months back showing how to make a homemade cold air intake that uses the 6637 as its filter. Once I find it, I will post it up in this thread.

Thanks, otherwise I'll wait to install it. I removed the white, plastic. airfoil from inside the last elbow before the turbo. I also tried spreading the tube/hose that connects to the airbox and putting the 6637 inside it. It fit, but wasn't very rigid, secure. It also hits the hood a little it in that position. Thanks!

Can you take pics of the install and post it up in this thread? TIA.

Yea, I can do that. Did you find the article on the homemade intake?

Unfortunately I've been unable to find it. The website that its on is so outdated that trying to find anything older than a month is difficult.

I found a thread on CF showing how to mount a 6637 on a 3rd gen Cummins.

I would have to say that another way to get your mileage up if you do alot of mixed driving or pulling is to get read of the bigger than stock tires..

A very good friend of mine (also a cummins technician at their Tech center) has an 05 and picked up better than 2MPG by going from some nitto grapplers to the stock sized michelins.. Now he has the michelins on all the time and switches to the grapplers if the snow comes on..

Trust me, some better easier rolling tires will definately help something that heavy..
