Default What exactly does "computer controlled" mean?

Looking through parts books for carbs, cams, ect and I always see " not for use with computer controlled vehicles" next to 80-86 parts. Was this just TBI units from the cars or what? I have an 83 C10 with a 305 and it is HEI.

thank you very much for the quick response. That was my thought process but I wanted to be 100% sure before ordering parts. Thanks again!
