Default Swapped my 5.3 with a 6.0 Vmax

About three years ago I swapped out my wore out 305 for my 5.3/4l60e in my 1981 C10.

A month or so ago I ran across a low mileage Z60 GMC truck. Got it put in with the 4l60e, added a ported tb and some headers with dual 3" exhaust(x pipe and magnaflow mufflers). It is ridiculous how much more power is there. I have a little bit of tuning to do to it, but to cruise around in...it is nasty for a stock engine.

I am hoping to get it finished up for the Power Tour this coming week.

No new pics yet. I dropped the truck off for the tune touch up friday. I should have it back this week for the power tour.

I will get some new pictures when I get it back.

Well I just got the call that it made good power 321hp 332tq on a Mustang dyno.

However there was bad news as well, spit the driveshaft out, busted the transmission to pieces, beat the new exhaust up, and beat the floor pan up....*****!

Guess we are on the search for a transmission and driveshaft...

We were going to go to BG today and ride the last part out. Now we are just going to catch it in Chattanooga... going to be in my trans am probably.

I am unsure what to do about the transmission. I do not want to go back with a 60e, but that one worked well up until yesterday. Still kind of disgusted over it.

Well the truck is back to tearing the roads up again. I have forgotten how much fun the truck is to drive. I will get some pictures of it up in the next day or so.

So did you end up with an 80e or a built 60?

Did a built 60e. Has worked out good so far. Replaced the fuel pump yesterday and looking for some 8100 injectors.
