Question Looking at a 1981 Chevy Shortwide...

I'm contemplating getting this old 1981 Chevrolet C10, Shortwide...

393 Stroker, heads, cam, etc... all the performance goodies...

20" Custom Centerline Wheels, Nitto 555r's, etc...

No rust, really really solid truck, everything is shaved, roll pan, door poppers, all the usual custom stuff.

New Interior, carpeted bed...

Also the transmission is still under warranty, with a 3500 stall and shiftkit...

The only thing it really needs is to be painted..

Are these pretty good old trucks??? I've never dealt with older trucks like these. It seems like a good vehicle to me.

What is it worth? he's willing to take a trade, which is my two 1966 mustang coupes that are in bad shape...

Just looking for input, I like the truck but I've never dealt with them...

I bought mine for $4500...it only had cammed 350, beat up trans, gov-lock posi, and the body was pretty beat up, but it had a half-assed paintjob. I'd say that truck is worth a bit more than mine was. I've seen similar trucks on Ebay and Craigslist going for around $6000-$8000. It sounds like a really nice truck. I'd probably go for it if I was in your situation.
