You have a picture of this truck? I was not aware of the 2500 series being offered with a 305 and a six lug bolt pattern. It sounds like you have a 1500 4x4 IMHO.

 

It is a 1994 GMC c2500 305 automatic with 6 lugs. There is no 4x4 anything on the truck at all. No transfer case ,no big hubs in front , no front drive sahft, no hole in the floor for 4 wheel anything.. According to info I found on the net this config. was only available in 7% of trucks made in 1994 so it is kinda rare with this confirguration. The truck is a a work truck with the utility bed.

 

Ok I have been working on the truck . I got the miss fixed it was either the plugs or the wires so I replaced both runs perfect now. I pulled the tranny on saturday because there was a leak that is slinging all over the bottom of the truck and all over the exhaust. It is leaking both oil and tranny fluid. I changed out the front seal on the tranny. I am going to do the oil pan gasket and rear main this saturday.

Funny thing today. I got home and was lookin at the truck and saw a **** load of tranny fluid on the torque convertor and all over the ground. (no it wasn't spilled, and no it was not over full.) I had the torque convertor sitting on the groung with the snout facing up. WTF has anyone heard of a torque convertor puking fluid ???? I am thinking there might be a crack in it and that is what caused it to loose fluid. Also when I was driving it I was losing trans fluid but only when I drove the truck. If I let it idle for a little bit there would not be one drop. But once the fluid got heated up while driving it would be everywhere.

Any thoughts???

 

The wheels don't fit. I clearanced the a-arms with the wheels straight. And the wheels fit good with them straight. But once I got the truck back on the ground for a test drive I turned the wheels and the wheels hit. So the 2001 wheels have the same lug pattern and fit my truck but the offset is just to far off to use them on the 1994. Oh well...

 

also got the shocks changed out. The shocks were the original and were soo bad that i could move the piston on the shocks with no force whatsoever. Also did the breaks. New rotors and pads repack bearing and new seals.

 

My bad, I have no idea where I got the 4x4 thing from, It sounds like a really rare truck!

 

Finally got the truck done replaced the oil pan gasket, rear main, transmission rebuild and new convertor. Got the check engine light figured out and the truck runs good and it stops good and rides smooth . Man this truck is sooo under powered. Oh well it is a work truck. Thanks for the info and advice.

Fullsize Chevy has alot more of the older truck info than here. PT has alot more LS engines info though. Both websites helped out alot. Thank goodness for the net.
