Air bags?
#1
I just picked up a 1970 chevy truck, and ive been looking at these airbag kits for them. I was wondering if they are just for show or do they improve the ride and handling. I dont care if it will make my truck sit on the ground but if it will ride like a caddy it may be worth it.

I've bagged almost all my rides, even bagged my 01 Honda Odyssey. My TBSS is bagged. I never do any fast setups, my goal is not speed, has to ride and handle perfect. Work in freezing condition etc....I want the adjustablility. It does take sometime to get it to ride right though. Anyone can just slap an airbag kit on and make it go up and down. Getting it to ride nice takes time.

Ride is more in the shock becouse it controls compression and rebound. Also the type of bag you use can be used to firm it up a bit. Like Slam SPecialties re6 vs he6 vs xs6.
I talked to a kid who have the slam specialties air ride kit on his Charger with the XS7 bags or what ever are the thickest ones, and he said it rode alot firmer then his friend with a 300 with a different airbag set-up. Plus they rode really damn low, and he said he had less bottoming out problems then his friend even when they followed each other.
Could be his friend need new shocks or even just stiffer ones, but fine tuning is the key. Which is why I am staying static on my truck when I do it.
