Now if I were you, I'd swap in the 5.3/4L60E setup and use a passenger side drop NP241 tcase from a '90-'91 K5 or Suburban. Those two years have the VSS on the output shaft which you will need. That case will use your K5's stock NP208 tcase shift linkage so that is not an issue at all. Also, you might wanna look into upgrading your rig's axles if you're still running the stock ones. Yopu can convert your 10 bolt front to 8 lug using parts from an '80s era K20 pickup or Suburban or swap in a 8 lug Dana 44 from a late '70s era K20. If you plan on running tires taller than 38 inches, then look into a front Dana 60 from a 1 ton pickup. For the rear, use a FF 14 bolt. They are dirt cheap and very plentiful at the junkyards. Plus parts for them are dirt cheap too.
