I'll leave the shaved handle thing for another paint job later maybe. I was thinking more toward performance.

So say this was your truck, with a freshly built Ford 9" rear end, 4.11 gear, built th350 with 3k stall, ratchet shifter on the floor that you loved, motor was perfectly tuned to 450+ hp running 12s or so in the 1/4 mile, putting a smile on your face.... buuuuut you were ready for a motor change, tired of running a carb setup, tired of the small block, wanted something more radical but also something more dependable with no worries of it not starting after sitting for many weeks at a time, something that for the most part stays tuned, still sounds like a hot rod or muscle truck, something that can be driven on the street but also go run 11s or so on the track, something that makes your jaw drop when you pop the hood.... what would you do?

simple, a LS7 not a big block but plenty of power and very reliable, with a blower you are easily in the low 10's and it starts and idles every time no matter how long it sits and never fouls plugs.
I am putting a basicly stock 5.3 other than a tune and headers in my 50 model. it will get modded later. it only has 52 miles on it so I can't bring myself to take it apart yet. besides I can use that money to finish my build.
look for a takeout from a vette or GTO

If you are into building your stuff you can't beat a turbo 6L or any ls engine. That can replace some displacement and can be cost effetive. I think an EFI mountain motor would be fun too, but I don't have the money for something like that.

I've tossed around the idea of a custom turbo lsx setup. At least with that I know I'd have some help from a buddy who has plenty of knowledge in that dept. Just weighing out all of the options.

+1 for an LS7 but with a color match scheme of some nature.

+1 exactly what the doctor would prescribe for your condition.
