You all can probably guess that I've thought about the 5.3/6.0 idea, and I've thought through just getting a healthy 350, maybe something a bit more... but in either case, depending on what news I hear this week, that news will determine if I need to seriously start thinking about a motor.

Thank you all for the thoughts and opinions... demands... haha. I'll post up more info when it becomes available.

Got the call yesterday afternoon. They got a new timing chain on, but said that it wasn't running 100%, said that idle is a little rough and that they still think the valves may be warped. So it's drivable and can run, so I'll at least get it back on campus. Don't think I'm going to be driving any great distances though. I'm going to go pick her up today, we'll see how she is.

In my mind, looks like it's time to start saving...

Got her back, and she runs, but she's not going to be doing much aside from resting. Got an awful lot of chatter going on on the right side. Poor thing's definitely starting to show her age.

So, now is where it gets interesting...

Wanna buy a Small Block? I'll be in Witchita Falls friday afternoon. Thats probably most of the state away from you, but WAY closer than Illinois! I got a good running 5.7L out of a 90 burban.

Definitely closer, Wichita Falls is about three hours or so from where home is now, but I still need to work on the funds for all of this. Sure do appreciate the offer though.

As it sits right now, the motor has just shy of 216,000 miles on it.
