Default Front end lowering ?

I apologize if this has been gone over before, but I have an 89' GMC standard cab reg bed. I've been looking online all weekend and it seems there are a hundred different ways to lower these trucks. My front end squeaks like h#!!. I was told it is the upper arm bushings. My issue is this: if i'm getting ready to lower the truck (I want to go 4/6!) Is there a way to kill these two birds with 1 stone while still having my truck lowered correctly? What I gather from what i've been reading is that spindles and springs in the front is a good way to go. I didn't want change the bushings and then lower if I really don't have to. Again, I apologize if this has been covered before. Thanks guys!

which control arms are squeaking? if the lowers are you can buy lowering lower control arms so no need to buy bushing because the new control arms will have them. it like "killing two birds with one stone" as you stated. heres a link to them.http://www.stylintrucks.com/parts.as...tfamilyid=3333 just trying to help not sure if your wanting to go that route. good luck

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it. The upper arms are the ones squeaking. My main issue is I want it to be lowered correctly and the majority of the posts i've read thus far say that spindles & springs are the way to go for the front. The truck is not in bad condition but I don't think that the upper or lower arms have ever been changed. I guess what i'm asking is: if you were in my shoes (control arm bushings need replacing, but also going to lower the truck) how would you go about doing this? Thanks again!

if it was my truck, and i was going to lower with spindles and springs i would take the time and spend a little extra to buy new ball joints, and control arm bushings. since it is an older truck and gives me peace of mind that i wont have to tear into the suspension anytime soon. ide do it all at the same time so you wont have to pay twice for a wheel alignment.
