Question Driveshaft...

For those of you who have done the LSx swap and gone with a 4L60 or 80... Is there anything that needs to be done with the driveshaft; lengthen, shortened? Or does the motor and trans. basically set right in place and line up?

I am running a 79 with transdapt motor mount plates and i have to shorten mine about 5/8" Doesnt sound like a bid deal but i ran my 12 bolt without shortening it and it sent my pinion into the carrier destroying it. you could run different mounts and not have to shorten i guess not sure which ones those would be.

Have a shaft cut to length or made. Was watching an LS1/4L60E swapped 87 on Power Tour on the dyno, had factory drive shaft in it. We where standing right by the cab along the caution tape. Drive shaft pulled out of the tail shaft at full tilt and went everywhere. My buddy Dave caught a u joint cap to the lower lip. Could have been really really bad! Kid said it was just a little short, less than 1/2".
