Default 86 c10 lsx and 4l60e swap

Hi guys,

Im getting ready do do a lsx swap into my 86 c10 that I picked up just for the purpose last month. This isn't my first ls swap as I have put a Built 5.3 with a ls1 intake in a 92 firebird that I sold when I got married 3 years ago. Anyways I have 2 engines. I have a 99 5.3 with about 117k on it and a 04 4.8 with only about 42k on it it. What engine would be better? Obviously the whole bigger is better thing comes in to play but I do plan to turbo down the road so I was thinking the 4.8 with the lower miles may be a better option. Also this will be a daily driver so the best mpg possible would be great. Thats why its gonna be a pretty much stock engine with a turbo system. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

Ha yeah I read that before I ever posted this. Thats awesome but im assuming a 5.3 could take turbo just as well correct? I mean the 4.8 could probably handle a bit more power because of the shorter stroke but i dont plan on ever pushing any more than 500-600 so im guessing the 5.3 would be fine? What engine would get the most mpg?

The 4.8's stroke will have no bearing on its durability when compared to a 5.3.

a guy around here had a 5.3 with a zo6 cam, weiand intake, ls6 heads, and a single turbo and made 460HP/431TQ. but i've heard that these 4.8's LOVE BOOST
