i'm assuming you're referring to the 6.2L diesel? is it a military version? anyway i can't say i would recommend one...about their only plus in my opinion is they can get decent fuel mileage. what are your goals for the blazer?

a cummins and some 3/4 ton axles would be great. i'd go for it if the chassis is in good shape and it's a good deal. i don't expect you to fall in love with the 6.2 though

im already not in love with the 140hp and 210 lb ft of torque. but its lifted with 33 swampers and the body is perfect. just has the typical pealing 80's paint. i more or less was looking for things to look out for on the 6.2L. i dont want to buy a blazer that i have to dump tons of money into right away. i want to play for a little bit!!!

I bought my lifted, 3/4 ton axle swap, tbi smallblock blazer with the intention of doing a 5.3 or simular swap. But theres a local 79 k20 Scottsdale with a 12v Cummings and 5-spd in it for sale that might be fun to try and get. Have you thought about a dropout Duramax and th400/Allison swap? Good luck on your swap as it sounds like we're kinda in the same boat.

BTW rebuilding the damn tailgate and doors window systems sux

I've always thought a suburban barn door rear gate setup would be pretty sweet on a blazer...
