That's awesome. That gives me a lot better idea of what it's going to take. Did you run a new style fuel tank with the electric pump or just upgrade your existing one?

I put a new 1987 tank with the slosh baffles and a new 1987 fuel pump pick up and sending unit on my truck. Then added a walbro 255 intank pump.

Say I could get ahold of an LS2 for decently cheap comparatively. I'd have 400hp/400trq straight out the gate. I found one tonight with a 4L60E tranny for $2500. Got me thinking again...

I did similar to formulized. I used my factory tank but added an 87 sending unit. I got a ton of parts from an 01 C2500 my buddy parted out, including the sending unit from the 01. I stripped that sending unit down and stole the pump from it. I ran in to some issues finding a sump screen ( 01 sending unit had 2 small pick ups on the pump ) I ended up finding a screen at Orielly's that was as big as the pump and just cut it and slid it over the pump like a sock and hose clamped it.

If the pump goes out, I'll do as formulized did or get one from a Vortec 90's truck.

As you can see in my picture of my tank, I cut the supply and return and put an earl's tube to -6 on the sender and put braided stainless line to the factory steel lines that run up the frame. Not sure if this was wise or not, will find out in time I guess. They didn't show any sign of rust, so should be fine. I used earl's tube to -6 on them as well.

The way I ran my fuel lines I ended up using 10 feet of stainless braided from the pass side frame to the fuel inlet/outlet on the 5.3, and another roughly 5 feet under the truck from the tank to the hard lines.

It will all fall together as you do it.

Good luck!

haha, I gotcha. Take it the LS2 isn't the greatest idea to put in an 84 Silverado DD that I may boost or spray in the future?

Getting closer. Have been running wires for a while. Just a bit ago, I wired my last sensor. All sensors are ran, done finished! I have a couple of battery cables to make up yet, and a few wires to run in the cab of coarse. I have till Jan 31st anyways, don't get paid till then. Down to only needing my PCM programmed at that point. Then its GO TIME!

Between now and then, I need to rewire the instrument cluster ( got one from a 90 burb ). Still have to fab up my H pipe and a radiator hold down/fan mount.

I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

oh no that is not it at all, I am just saying that you could buy that sell it and take the money that you made and psy for your truck 6.0. Then you have 0 monies in it.
