So long story short I was helping a buddy to get his old c10 back up and running. Got the engine going and went for a short drive to test the brakes, engine, trans etc. So pull back in to the driveway to fill up the transmission and adjust the carb. Pull the cable and nothing. So try the tap the hood while someone pulls the cable nothing. Listen to it and the cable is moving but it sounds like the cable lost its ball on the end. So any good tricks to get the hood open without the cable.
Things we have tried so far.
- Coat hanger but i can't seem to get it on the latch. Even wedged the hood open
- Tired reaching up from the bottom of the truck to reach the latch. I have some long arms and my buddies are even longer. But still sort by about 6 inches.
- Tired to remove the 1/2 inch bolts. But can not get a socket in there.
Any ideas or help.
