Thats what I did, worked like a dream. Also, instead of a flywheel jammer, if you have some chain laying around you can wrap it around a spoke on the balancer then around the frame rail to keep the engine from turning.

I think he was talking about using the screw driver to jam the flywheel. You could use one but you wouldn't be able to get the balancer torqued down very tight. I had to have someone hold on to the balancer to keep it from spinning while another person was jamming the flywheel with a screw driver to get it torqued down. I would have gladly paid the $15 for shipping to barrow a jammer looking back on it

Instead of pin magnets I used some 1/8 rod with sticky back velcro soft side and spun my cam couple times after timing chain was off and there is two holes to slide them in on each side of the cam worked great costed me a whole 6 bucks instead of 20 for pin magnets search on ls1tech they have a write up on it
