i bought a 2008 polaris outlaw 450mxr right at 2 years ago got the 4yr warranty (is transferable 2yrs warranty), Pure polaris nerf bars, and a FMF jet kit when i bought it.. probably got 40hrs the first year, i was in college so i had no time to ride. might have rode it 5-10 hrs this year if that (got married and moved out of parents house)

---work got slow last winter so i brought it to work with me and took all the suspension off, cleaned all the bushings and relubed with GM superlube (i work at a gm dealership)
--Prepped and painted control arms uppers red, lowers black.
--Prepped and painted wheels black
--sanded all hubs smooth removing all casting flaws, and painted them black as well.
--wrapped header
--removed air box lid (can include) and drilled upward slanted holes in the back of the air box (to try and help keep water out and still let air in)
--has cap style kill switch that mounts to left boot (is grounding style and has plug so you can disconnect at the connector that was installed for quick riding w/o the cap in the way)
--polished rear axle
-- changed oil 3rd time (once after 4hrs for break in, 2nd after 6 full tanks of gas(20-25hrs per manual))
--Adjusted valves

--same powerplant as the $10k ktm 450 quads and very similar chromoly frame, after the header wrap, airbox mods, and rejetting this quad had no probably handing a ktm 450sx its butt lol.
-- the MXR came factory w/ fox podium XI shocks all around
-- not sure if it still stands but the outlaw 525 was the fastest quad availible at the time, and its been proven over and over that high rpm racing the 450 will outrun the 525 (lighter and higher reving) only difference is the bore. I have outrun yfz450r, outlaw 525s, raptors, pretty much any sport quad you could name lol. these quads are very fast out of the box and this one is no exception and has proven its power time and time again.



-----like i stated earlier i may have riden her 5hrs this year if that much, gas my have gone bad by now, idk its locked in my parents garage 70 miles from me in phil campbell, AL. If i do have someone very interested in it, i will go drain the gas fill it up with fresh 93, and make sure everything is 110%
---Also want to note the clutch basket is a bit noisy, seems to be a common issue with these (i have a friend with the identical quad except his is bone stock) and his makes the exact same noise.... BUT, while the warranty doesnt cover clutches, brakes, or tires (normal wear items) its cover almost everything on the quad, they even warrantied me a seat after mine started to split at the back (was pulled too tight factory and had a sharp edge on plastic frame) so getting the clutch basket replaced shouldnt be a problem. just havent had time to carry it up there as the closest dealer is 40 miles from the garage.
