Very tasty. I love the way they turn out on the pellet smoker as compared to my big green egg.

A buddy of mine has trager. Defiantly more consistent on cooking time. But it doesn't get the same deep smoke flavor.

He has experimented with using both but it's hard to get that happy medium.

I could never get a good smoke ring or flavor from my egg. The pit boss gets a deep ring and flavor in it. Not quite like a stick burner but close.

I haven't done it my self on the Egg, Only on a grill. A guy I used to work with did it on the egg and was able to get excellent results. That's what got me interested in smoking the meat.
My buddy has an Oklahoma Joe Offset smoker. Just add a few chips here and there and keeps the smoke going.

Yup. Had one of those. They cook well. One day I’ll splurge and buy a really nice offset with an insulated box but for now I’ll stick to the pellet.

I don't know enough about them but It would be cool to have one for sure.

The Pellet works really good for consistency. we tried the SMoke thing you put inside but it has very little effect. I kind of wondered about adding a box like an offset smoker that you could put a small amount of wood chips to try and get a better deep smoke flavor. Obviously no one wants to cut a hole in an expensive grill just to try it out....

I’ve never used one of those smoke tubes. Brother in law uses one in his vertical pellet smoker.

We tried it on the pellet. The problem is it burns for about 15-20 minutes. Then that's it... It's too hot to refill. Maybe if you had 2-3 of them and just rotate them in and out, But Seems like a lot of effort.

On the Offset, You just add some more chips or chunks to the box and let it do its thing....
