Default thinkin bout getting a 03 d-max with 200k! need some help!

i dont know ANYTHING bout diesels, but been doin a little research on here. ive found a 03 with 200k on it and was wondering if i should be worried. seems like the only issue i have really read bout is injectors. any other issues? would this be too many miles? it will be my daily and pull my race car. COULD I GET 300-400K OUT OF IT?

**** yeah dude. 200k is well broken in for a diesel. i think you can easily see 400k from that drivetrain.

Have an independent shop that you trust check the suspension/steering/drivetrain/etc before you purchase. That way you know where you stand as far as wear & tear items. It also may give you some bargaining power to lower the price. While the engine & trans may go 300-400k, belts, hoses, ball joints, water pump will not. When my Duramax needed a water pump, parts & labor cost was over $900 at the dealer. Since I worked there, I just bought the part & got our diesel tech to do the labor for beer.

But my point here is, when it does need something, expect it to be expensive. Big trucks=big bucks, lol.

Tie rods, wheel bearings, pitman/idler arms and CP3s are the main things to worry about with that kind of mileage. If it was a good price I wouldnt think twice about getting it.

03 is the LB7 motor which is bad for having injectors go have chev do a balance rate on them and make sure there still good before you buy... that being said my truck is an 03 and it has never let me down only problem its given me is flat tires but it only have 123 miles on her
