Default so i got a free tuner!

so a friend of mine gave me his hypertech power programmer III for his 02 2500HD with a 6.0 in it. i've got the same drive train and whatnot (different trim package) just wondering if anybodies used this tuner and what you used for a good power to mpg ratio...
thanks!
edit: not 100% positive if this goes here, give me some slack, im new

Normally this would go into the tuning section. Just play with the settings until you find what you like. Most of us on here tune with hptuners and efi live or get a mail order tune, all of which outperform the hypertech by far. Since you got it for free it's not bad but, I wouldn't pay for one of those things. Welcome to the forum

If it's in decent condition, sell it and use the money for a real tune.

If not, Hypertech is better than nothing.

Get a tune from someone who uses EFILive or HP tuners. It's night and day difference with the LQ4 HD's with all of GM's restriction junk removed and the addition of around 10 degrees of advance.... among other things of course.

You can get a custom tune from one of our sponsors from the right for cheaper than you can get a handheld for.
Not to mention the handhelds only adjust the timing some and dont touch any of the other thousand parameters

Go custom tune after you play with the hypertech and see what you think.
The 2500HD's have a bunch of restrictions that the hypertech wont change.

If the motor is out that seems like a perfect time for a cam!
