this is what i want a short box new body dually, thinking about just picking up a v6 short box buying a dually bed and dually rear axle to chuck underneath it then slam the **** out of it. would it be as easy as that other than some brake lines coverting the front to 8 lug too.??? seems easy or just crazy

 

The bed on a dually is a lot longer than a short bed reg cab.

if you've seen a short bed dually it would have been a custom job. i don't know for sure on the new trucks so don't quote me but wheel well placement should be the same in relation to axle mounts for all the bed sizes so a short bed frame with dually axles would be easy. the tough part would be the custom dually bed sides. if you're good at body work you could do it and make it look clean, but it would be a project to make it look right. then yes you would want 3/4 or 1 ton front gear with dually spacers. honestly it'd probably be easier (and cheaper) to just pick up a dually and bob the rear. either way it'll be a project.
