Default new style frame and old style body

would the old style body fit on a new style frame? i can get a 08 cab fire diesel truck on the cheap and am toying with the idea of dropping my 04 cab onto the new style frame.

or possibly just swap the drive train into my 04...

I am quite sure that the frames from 2001-2010 are all the same. only the bodies changed on the 8 lug trucks. all suspension is exactly the same. i know that for gospel truth.

Yea, the 8 lugs retained the torsion bar suspension, so I don't see an upgrade or benefit of doing so, but if you want to have the new duramax combo, then it might be worth the swap.

the frames are vastly different. I wouldn't do it unless you are willing to do a bunch of fab work
