Default Mag-Hytec Trans and Diff pan

Are the Mag-Hytec Trans and Diff pans worth the money, or are they even needed?
They would be going on a 2006 GMC 2500 Duramax 4x4
that is used for towing (sometimes up to 8500lbs) some off road, and lots of hwy and city driving.
Thanks,
cueball

Alternative is to go to a Allison dealer and get a steel stamped deep pan intended for a motor home.
