I just changed the oil but decided to go with a 10W-40 Chevron oil but I'm still having the same issue, oil pressure is maxed out when I fire it up and it only drops to normal pressure after I drive it a little. Any ideas?

Is there any way to check that without removing the entire oil pump itself or no?

My trucks throwing some codes but I don't have a code reader to diagnose exactly. Think it's worth running out in picking up one from Autozone or Kragen?

I figured I'd throw out there that I just have the stock oil pressure gauge and that it stops at 80 but in my opinion my pressure is probably even higher than that such as up to 100+. Also I noticed today on my Edge Juice monitor that when I first start driving when my pressure is up way high my throttle % is as high as 70-75% with just basic acceleration from a dead stop. There has to be something going on because after a couple minutes of driving it goes down to normal pressure and my throttle response is more within the range of what you'd expect upon acceleration. Any ideas at all? Is this something probably worth taking in to get looked at?

wait, are you using a handheld tuner?
try reverting to stock settings and taking that thing off.
if that doesn't do anything then absolutely take it to get it serviced. there is no reason that you should see above 30% throttle to start moving.

Yeah I thought it may be tuner related but why after so long would the Edge start causing me problems? There has to be something I'm missing.

Well I took the Edge off and problem still is there. Oil pressure sits high until a little drive time with it. Should I start looking into a new oil pump?
