i personally have a 2500 gasser. it tows fine, i dont think you need a diesel unless your pulling some heavy weight, i can replace an lq4 3 times for the cost of a set of injectors for a diesel. the cost in the long run. is always cheaper.

if your pulling heavy. day after day i can understand.
the mileage certainly isnt good but where you lose there you more than make up for in other areas.

I traded a lly for a 6.0 and would never go back to a diesel. my truck gets 2 mpg less and the fuel cost 40 cents less a gallon. I avg 14 mpg in my 6.0 I avg 16 in the lly. ever time I had to fix one thing on the diesel it cost half my paycheck in the 4 figures. the truck will pull whatever I want and It starts in all weather. it cost 8 grand less to buy on top of that. you never come out with a diesel and unless your working it similar to what you would a dump truck all day every day its about pointless.

If you buy a diesel it better be sitting at the dealer on the used car lot when the odometer has 49,999. I'm not getting in a pissing contest with diesel guys but 50K is when the emission warranty is up and the largest problem bar none we see on modern diesels we sell is emissions problems. Once it's out of warranty you better have deep pockets to keep it on the road as problems develop. There's no doubt it will get better mileage and run better than a gasser but that all comes at one heck of a cost. I can tell you first hand you cant keep modern diesels out of the shop due to emissions problems. Thanks to the damm EPA theres not a way around it easily anymore.

Idk why anyone would keep the emissions crap anymore. Mother in law just straight piped her 2011. Removed everything from EGR, DPF, Def, cats, the works. Truck runs like a champ. It's more extensive than the removal on the gas trucks, but worth every little bit.

???? dunno we are a gmc dealer only just sell duramax's I couldn't tell you.

I can tell you I've been contemplating a cruze diesel but the emissions is biggest thing that keeps me crossing the diesel version off the list I drove one at a dealer in austin and it runs great it'll smoke the 1.4 turbo cruise.

I would have to say probably go gas, but diesel sure is fun with the emissions removed.

the emission removed alone isn't going to make it very fast at all. my lly was slight to no faster with a stock motor with a straight 4 inch exhaust and the egr blocked than my 6.0. you can throw a tune on it and then yes it is but then you hit that 90 hp limit that the trans will die and you still are talking a 8k more truck. how much does it cost to make a 6.0 to run as fast as duramax with the 90 hp tune? prob less than 8k.
