Default Fuel mileage

I was wondering what kind of fuel mileage a 2wd diesel pick up gets.

I starting my own buisness, and sometimes I load my 1500 up too much. So I'm wondering if the diesel beats my 460 Ford I need to get running again.

Mine's actually 4wd but I get about 17 average (60hwy/40cty) and about 20 highway last time I checked.

My 2WD 06 LBZ gets about 15-16 in town and 18-19 hwy. I have 265's. These are only one size up from factory, but are bigger(heavier) and increase rolling resistance. My MPG #'s are corrected for bigger tires. Many tuners claim to increase mileage by 1 or 2 mpg also. I am looking into one now, but have not jumped in.

The biggest factor is how you drive it. I can get terrible mileage if I drive it hard.

My F-250 with the old 460 usually got 12-14 average not matter what.

My 1500 Sierra does great for light loads but when I load it up I get scared. So I will probily upgrade in less then a year if things go good for me.

upgrading would definatly be a good idea seeing right now you can pick up a diesel truck, or any truck right now for dirt cheap...

I don't want to get ahead of my finances. I can easily afford my truck even driving as much as I do. So I have to wait to see if things go good for an extended peroid. Not just a bunch of side work I pick-up for after/weekend work.

Plus I only loaded up twice this year enough to get me thinking, and I don't even have HD suspension on my 1500. So I may just go there first.
