Big Red does better in the 8th mile. 6.81 @ 99.11 best to date. He will run 10.97 to 11.10 most any day.

wow i found a blast form the past thread, I was just wondering the same thing ....what is the fastest 8 lug gasser. My 00' Seirra2500 (5180lbs) goes 11.6@116mph and that setup is mild, 10psi pump fuel and no meth/ low timing

Man how are y'all's trucks so light? Mine weighs in at 6,800 with me in it on the scrapyard scales, granted that's full weight..

the problem with this is there is to many options and no rules...

Take my 2500 suburban. before it came apart i got down to 13.2 @ 10X if i remember correctly.. But its a sububran, lifted, and about 10K lbs.. bone stock it ran 19.1 at 70 lol..

anyway, its cool to have " a title" but it means nothing. here is why,

Stock my sububran ran 19.1, my crew cab 6.0L 2500 ran 17.X, the extra cab short bed 8.1L ran 16.6.. see where im going with this, i dont know anyone and have never owned a regular cab long bed 8.1L but in theory it should be quicker because of weight,

Then you have to ad in whats done, whats not, was it stock was it not, weight reduction ect...

Years ago a diesel guy at the track, who is a pretty good friend but loves his ego, wanted the to be the fastest diesel something something something.. So to get his et there he removed everything. rear seat, tail gate, passenger seat, center console, trailer hitch front and rear bumpers, etc etc etc... so at the end of the day Yes he got his bragging right title of im the fastest but not really..

Same goes for street cars to in my book, before the kids got older i use to do a lot of drag racing, cars had to be street legal and insured.. well that fine but that was only rules.. In TN, you can insure and tag anything with a vin.. Doesnt mean you can drive it safely on the road.. example of this, about 3 years ago i was out playing, i dont care about trophy's and all that bs that comes with racing. I do it because it helps with stress and well you will not go to jail on the track..

I have a mid year corvette, built motor, 327, 4 speed 4:56 gear byplay stock tires, its a survivor car as one would say, everything work, lights, wipers, etc etc etc..... so i line up again a 70 ish nova, i get spanked... no big deal it was fun.. i get back in line and mr red neck comes over running his toothless mouth. bla bla bla, you got more in that car than my trailer etc etc etc... im like ok so, you just got beat bad by beater nova, im like yea i saw that, they keep on so i just walk off.. later that night i go by and look at his nova, 100% drag car... lexon windows, drag slicks, auto, no exhaust, no wiper, no interior, and by no interior i mean, drivers seat, a tach and steering wheel... no dash, no radio, no ac, no heat, hell it didnt even interior panels on the doors.. moral to story he thought he was god i guess..

also track and elevation play a roll. all of my cars over the years have been .5 to .7 at home vs Charlotte,
