How come these swaps aren't as popular? ED you have a build thread on your truck?

 

Who knows...I been buying up 8.1's cheap because of it. I now own a mid 90's dually. It is getting an 8.1. The silverado. 8.1 an 92 s10 which I am making my gas mileage beast. And I just bought a 2000 sierra. I am strongly considering doing something with since i bought a complete torque tube corvette 6 speed drive train and suspension to put in s10. But man 8.1 with a corvette suspension in a truck. I got a lot of options when i get back from deployment

Thats a cool turbo setup any details on that? If I cant find a whipple thats probably the way Ill go, altho Im unsure if the turbo lag will make me unhappy towing

Nope, the truck started out as a v6 then i put a vortec 454 in it, sold the 454 and put the 8.1 in it. There is another truck similar to mine same color etc that he put a carb 350 in it

 

^^ yeah, wasn't he having fuel problems with the electronics, so he just slapped a carb on it?

 

I dont think it was trouble, Just cheaper and easier hell what i have spent on injectors I could have carbed my motor a few times
