Ya I was talking fly wheel, you're around round 490 at the crank as is, using 15%, 504 with 20% or 525 with 25%.
The boat guys were getting 560hp crank with ported intakes on 87 octane, then ran into piston issues, another 20 hp with 92.
That intake you are fabbing will help with upper power for sure.
Nice work.
peace

just some quistons
after all you guys invsted on those 8.1 do you feel they were worth it?
isnt a 6.0 ls motor better and cheaper and a less problem motor that can achive same hp and almost same tq with the same parts( ie heads cam intake .. etc)?
what is your setup ED?

we swapd to a 6.0 in one of the trucks and the owner says there is no performance differnce and the 6.0 have better mpg (obvious) better daily driver better overall motor expect for towing and hauling wich is a rare thing for him
dont get me wrong i have littel to no info on the 8.1
dont shoot me
also you have 2.1l more than a 6.0 so be fare on that matter
you didnt answer my quistons , we are between doing a swap for the other truck or moding it

I havent been on in a while.. you guys are making progress... i hope to get mine tuned next month..
I see one of you mentioned 13 psi of boost... is that in the intake manifold? if so i need to up my boost.. on only 9 psi...
I think i can get 13 in the sububran on 9 psi now that i fixed the reduced engine power that kicked in a 83 mph. my last pass at the track was 14.5 at 80... but the 1/8 mile was a 9.0 at 78 mph... so with a full pass it should pick up at least 30 mph...
also good post on the intake.. i need to pull mine back off and plug it up.. i keep blowing the dip stick out.
